Till Death

Hello bride,

I finished a book this morning. Book was dope. Book made me cringe a little bit. Book was still dope. Book was by Queen Jennifer. I'm sorry. Please send help to 1234 Internet St.

Till Death is about how Sasha Keeton comes home after ten years because of the horrific experiences she had being kidnapped by serial killer the Groom. She comes back to help out her mom but then crap starts happening, because the woman just can't get a break. Enter Cole Landis: Sasha's old college boyfriend. He feels guilty about not protecting her back then, and he isn't going to let anything happen to her this time. Will he break down Sasha's very understandable walls? Will these "accidents" add up to something real?

So, imma be honest. It's been a few days because I thought I published this. I didn't because I never finished it. Here's the gist: the book is great, go read it! There. I did it.

Ship: Sasha and Cole because Cole is the best
Hate: the Groom, the mayor

Of Poseidon

Hello minnow,

How's life? I think I asked that last time, but I truly care. I hope I can make your day a little brighter with my posts.

Anyway, I finished Of Poseidon on the way to a track meet, and can we say mixed feelings? Ridiculous. Basically, this mermaid prince is looking for another of his kind that possesses the Gift. He believes she can talk to fish, but won't take action until he sees it. Then we have Emma, who's just tryna deal with a recent loss without harassment if the hot guy she met in Florida. When the silly prince, Galen, realizes Emma is who he's looking for, stuff happens. You're welcome.

So, I'll give you my most glaring issue first: someone freaking wrote in the freaking library book! Not only was there writing in a book that didn't suck, but it was a library book! Whyyyyyy? Second, girlfriend kept switching tenses. Like, Emma's part was in first tense and Galen's was in third. Like, why? That wasn't necessary, Anna. Also, Galen was kind of a dick for a good half of the book. I wanted to fight him. I also kind of hate Rayna. She's unnecessary and mean to Toraf for zero reason.
Other than that, the book was fine. I figures out what was wrong with Emma before anyone else did, but that's fine. Actually, all of the book was kind of predictable, but I still kind of liked it. It was alright. I may or may not finish the series, but I'll read the second one. We'll see.  The book was alright, but it kind if annoyed me.

Sorry, I don't really have specific positives. Maybe all my negativity is leaking out. I'll try to plug it up.

*UPDATE CAUSE I DON'T FEEL LIKE DELETING*
I'm actually not going to finish this series. I took a look at the summary and I was like, mmmmmm nope. Not for me. Sorry not sorry. I'm not gonna put myself through that, even for you. 'Kay, bye, love you.

The Beauty of Darkness

Hello. . . . I can't think of one that works. Whatever. Whassup?

It took me way too long to read this book. You wanna know why? Do you wanna know why I was struggling with this amazing book? Physics. Freaking physics. It's even that it's hard, it's that my teacher is an incompetent buffoon who doesn't know anything. But anyway. Books.

I finished The Beauty of Darkness, and let me tell you, I had like zero to worry about. I mean, I had a little but overall there was nothing. This book follows the aftermath of Lia and Rafe's escape from Venda. They both want to get to safety, but Rafe is trying to go to Dalbreck and Lia wants to go to Morrighan to warn her people of the hidden army in Venda. Of course freaking Kaden hunts her down, so he's clearly a problem. With her and Rafe at odds and Kaden just adding to the tension, it was amazing that I survived all 679 pages.

So despite the rude interuptions of unimportant school work, I really enjoyed this book. Sometimes I was like, Lia what are you doing? but that happens often. This book helped me not hate Kaden and believe that he deserved love. I had a feeling that what happened with Lia in the end was going to happen, so that wasn't much of a surprise but I'm glad she did. Her own people didn't appreciate her enough. Or at all. Filthy traitors. Rafe was kind of being a stubborn bastard for a while, but I still loved him.

I feel like I should write more, but I'm sleepy. Peace out my homie. Stay toasty.

Ship: Lia and Rafe, Pauline and Kaden, Gwenyth and Griz

The Heart of Betrayal

Hello. . . idk, barbarian? Whatever.

Hey. I finished a book last night. It was dank. Wanna hear about it? Of course you do.

This is The Heart of Betryal, second to The Kiss of Deception if the cover art similarity wasn't evidence enough for you. In this novel, Lia is being held captive by the enemy territory of Venda. Not only does she have to worry about keeping herself alive, but bae-Rafe, who is playing as an emissary to the prince. Kaden is just being annoying and puppy-dog-like, but he does have some merit in the story. Everyone's deceptions in Terravin are swirling around but Lia can't worry about that. She's too busy trying to stay alive, not give up Rafe, and nurture a gift the most powerful man in Venda believes is a sham.

You may be wondering if I have rants. If so, you're also not my real friend. Rafe is still hot, still bae, still great. Kaden is still someone I don't like. I don't know why, I just don't like him. He's dumb. The Komizar is a demon spawn. All the little children of Venda are adorable.

For actual book content, I. . . . (so I forgot I didn't finish this post, so.....book content comentary isn't a thing. Oops.)

Ship: Rafe and Lia
Die: Komizar, Kaden, the little Vendan generals or whatever
Heart: Jeb, the children

Kiss of Deception

Hello barmaid,

I don't know if you read that post, but in like November, I put away a book because I wasn't ready yet. Now I'm ready. Today is the day that I finished The Kiss of Deception. Again.

The Kiss of Deception follows the main character, Lia. That's Princess Arabella Celestine Idris Jezelia, First Daughter of the House of Morrighan. Lia's about to get married, except she isn't too fond of the idea. The marriage is arranged and she hasn't even seen the guy. She can't do it. So she flees to the village of Terravin in the hopes that she can start overnot as a princess, but as a real girland have a real life and fall in love. Enter two potential love interests—one much better than the rest—Rafe and Kaden. (Mary E. Pearson does this sneaky thing where she'll tell the story from their perspective, but she named them The Assassin and The Prince. Then she gave little details to hint at who they might be. I knew right off the bat when I read this the first time, but that's because I'm special like that.) Lia is trying to make her place in the world and survive bounty hunters while slowly but surely falling in love.

Now, normally I rant about my ships here and how amazing boy part of ship is, but I can't. Because what if you haven't read it? But then again, what if I don't care? I'd tell you to leave and go read it, but I feel like you just do what you want, so what the heck. Imma rant. Rafe is everything. I love him so much. Like, from the beginning I was like, "Ooh, he's angry. I like it." Kaden was always a shady man and I didn't like him. He could go leave. I also really like Lia because she was a sassy chick, and not because she was a princess in another life. Her sass was genuine and all her decisions felt real.

Honestly, this entire book just makes me happy. You should go read it if you haven't already, it's very lovely. And there are three!

Ship: Rafe and Lia
Love: Berdi, Rafe, Rafe's squad
Don't love but don't hate: Pauline, Gwyneth, Griz
Die scum: Kaden, Malich,
