A Court of Wings and Ruin

Hello High Lady,

Welcome to the blog where I spout a bunch of nonsense and hope it makes sense to a real person. This one, as it just came out at the beginning of this month, was not a re-read, so I'm not going to go on a rant this time. You're welcome.

In A Court of Wings and Ruin, Feyre has gone back to the Spring Court to sow seeds of discord throughout Tamlin's people. He took her away from her mate like she was his property and now she will destroy him. It's great. It was great. Made me laugh. Anyway, she has to play a dangerous game in that crazy court. And as war gets steadily closer, she has to go find allies in interesting places.

Dang. I should write summaries for a living. I'll look into that.

First off, I'd like to say I hate Tamlin with every fiber of my being. He's a dick. I don't understand how I once loved someone I hate so much. Sarah, you mess with my emotions. Second, I love Rhys with the fierceness of a thousand suns. He will forever be bae. Those who don't agree can walk into the sun. I also enjoy that her sisters have redeemed themselves from the worthless, bratty fools they used to be. I still believe that Elain is a little slow, but what do I know.

This book was really good. It took me a minute because I had to keep stopping because things I didn't like happened, but it all worked out in the end. Just as a fair warning, I cried. Like a lot. Like I curled into the fetal position and cried for a good minute. It wasn't pretty. But it was fiiiiine. The book brought out some depths in some characters and made me hate and then love others in like ten pages. It was great. Go read it. Read them all.

Ship: Feyre and Rhys, Nesta and Cassian, Elain and Azriel, Amren and Varian, a bunch more I can't remember at the moment, I just woke up.
Die: Tamlin, Ianthe, King of Hybern you prick, Beron, Keir

A Court of Mist and Fury

Hello reader darling,

How goes it? I was going to post this yesterday, but I was sooooooooooo tired. And now I started the third one and I really wanna get back to it.

So. A Court of Mist and Fury. The book where Tamlin becomes complete and utter trash and Rhys saves Feyre because he is bae. Tamlin was like, oh all you need to do is sit still and look pretty. But I love you. Like, Feyre had severe PTSD but ain't nobody in Spring Court was gonna help my girl out. So finally, my boy Rhys showed up, interrupting a horrible wedding. And then the ship began to sail. Feyre never got better staying with that faerie trash can, and he then locked her in the house even though he knew she didn't like places that she couldn't escape from. Trash can didn't care. Lucien didn't even try to help. He was all like, just give him time. Like a little wuss. So he got the Morrigan, his cousin, to get her out. And Rhys was all things amazing and wonderful and I love him. We also meet Cassian and Azriel, who are great. Azriel is a man of few words, but he's pretty hot. Cassian says all the words, also hot. Amren, an ancient beast not from that world, is scary. It's great. Anyway, Feyre slowly but surely falls in love with Rhys and heals from the ordeal Under the Mountain. (AND THEY'RE MATES!)

That's about it. The important stuff. See ya in like two days. To the left is my boy Rhys. To the right is the symbol of the Night Court (a.k.a. dream team).

A Court of Thorns and Roses

Hello..... you know I had a name, but it's gone now.

It's the moment I've been waiting for. A Court of Thorns and Roses fangirl time. This is the time where I go on a fangirl rampage about the book.

***Just so you know, this is going to be chock full of spoilers. You've been warned.***

So, first let's talk about how my girl is a bad mamma jamma who just wants a little love in her life? This girl taught herself how to cook, chop wood, hunt mother-effing deer, swim, and various other survival skills at the age of about fourteen. Did all of that after coming from a previously wealthy family. Girl crazy. She also taught herself how to paint. You know what happens when I try to art? Bad things. Very bad things.

Of course, she wouldn't have to be a thing if her family wasn't trash. Which leads me to my next point of interest: the fam. Feyre's dad is a weak man. First you show up with debt. Then you allow the debt to swarm you. Next, you get beat up by creditor thugs. Your leg is busted up, I understand. Recovery's hard, again I understand. But then you don't get off your tired butt to take care of your family? You have three girls man! Stop being a wuss. He literally just let his youngest daughter go out to find food for them. Just let her walk out the house and try to hunt. And don't get me started on the sisters. Elain must be slow, because she just waltzes through life like everything's rainbows and unicorn farts. I don't even think she realizes Feyre is out their risking her life to feed her sorry butt. Nesta is the definition of an ice queen. She doesn't give one flying craptard about anyone, Well... let me amend that. She's cool later. She just doesn't show any feelings. The whole family just....ugh!

Tamlin...see, I understood why I kind of dug him, but at the same time RHYS! All the crap Tamlin does at the end of the book, not helping Feyre, not trying to visit her, it all got to me this time around. If he really loved her so much, he would have tried. Instead, Lucien had to heal her face. Lucien warned Feyre of the worm thing. Rhys helped Feyre with the riddle task. Rhys saved Feyre from breaking down. Tamlin just tried to protect himself, like the prick he is. I hate him.

Rhys, though a bastard in this book, I still love him. He's still great. All misconducts are forgiven for the good of the Night Court. Heart you!

I'm super excited to read the second one as soon as I finish this. It'll be super lit. Here's an extra image for the long post. I don't know who did but, seeing as Tamlin is the main love interest in this book, I'll deal with his face. For now.

Ship: Feyre and Rhys (duh), Tamlin and his hand
I dig you: Lucien, Alis
Fight me: Amaranthra

8/10 (The second one's better)

Ensnared

Hey little blossom,

So. The trilogy is over. The end is hear. Is this post going to be a mess? We'll see.

Ensnared is after the disaster with prom. All the openings to Wonderland are closed after the wraiths swept up Alyssa's mother and the other netherlings back. The only way through is through the alternate universe called the Afterworld, I think. Don't quote me on that, I already took it back. Anyway, Morpheus, Jeb, and Alyssa have to find a way back to Wonderland, blah blah blah.

Umm. Let me see. . . Jeb. He's a little dick in this one. I don't like him. I never liked him. He gets all emo for no reason then is like, mmmm jk. Go die. Morpheus is even better. Still heart. Ten out of ten. Alyssa's dad is cool. He's pretty dad like. I like that in Unhinged and Ensnared we see development of Alyssa's parents it's dope. The Afterworld or whatever it's called is weirder than Wonderland, but then again, it's supposed to be. Ummmmmmmm, Good conclusion. A little disappointed but that's only because I don't like Jeb. Other than that, it's good. I didn't guess the thing that was wrong with Alyssa so that's good. Yup.

Ship: Morpheus and Alyssa
GO AWAAAAAAAAAAY: Jeb
I dig it: Uncle Bernie

Regularly Scheduled Program
Alright. Now. I know that post was trash but there is a reason for that. I've been waiting for A Court of Wings and Ruin to come out since I finished the second one and I've finally got it. Because of that, I'll be taking a break from my regularly scheduled program to reread the first two then experience the third, because why the heck not? I do what I want and that's what I want. I also wanted to tell you how I'm going to do the reviews for the next three books. Since I have read them already, I know I'm going to feel differently about certain characters and events in the book. So, instead of doing a review or whatever it is I do, I was going to just drop a Goodreads summary and fangirl. That seems like the best course of action. I'm warning you now that there will most definitely be spoilers. If you have any oppositions, speak now or forever be spoiled.

Unhinged

Hello netherling,

How's it going? You doing good? I hope so. I'm sick, because I had to go to a track meet in the rain with 50-40 degree weather. I love running. My relays didn't make it any better, because they didn't try. Thanks team.

Anyway, I finished Unhinged today. The writing this time was like the color of a blueberry when you squish it. I could have finished it yesterday, but I was doing this weird stalling thing. It's weird and hard to explain. Don't worry about it. Unhinged is basically about Alyssa fighting for her human life, despite all the signs that say she needs to go back to Wonderland. Jeb and her have plans for after school, but Morpheus visits her dreams. It's great.

So Jeb, who I still don't like, doesn't remember anything from Wonderland. Morpheus is great. Wonderland is calling to her. I don't see what the problem is. Jeb has not broadcasted any outstanding qualities that make me feel like the pull she feels between the two is warranted. There are like two moments that I'm like, aww, but those are dwarfed by all the moments I'm like, ew.

I feel like I should have more valuable content after last weeks post, but it isn't coming to me. You can blame my sickness. Or my incompetency. Whichever suits your fancy.

Splintered

Hello butterfly,

Welcome to the part where I actually write about my book on time. Apparently I've been having problems with that, but whatever. It happens.

Today, I finished Splintered by one A. G. Howard. Alyssa, the main character, has had this problem where she can hear the whispers of flowers and insects and she's afraid it'll drive her insane. Like her mom, who's currently in an asylum. Alyssa and her mother are descendants of Alice Liddel, Lewis Carroll's inspiration for Alice in Wonderland, and all the women have been afflicted with the curse hence forth. So when Alyssa finds a chance to break this curse she takes it, but accidentally drags best friend/crush/dick Jeb with her. Falling down the rabbit hole leads the pair to discover a darker Wonderland, and [insert vague comment here].

So this book, amirite? It's crazy. First off, the writing is purple. PURPLE! And the actual writing was really good. Like the descriptions and stuff was amazing. I can only hope I write my debut as good as my girl A. G. Howard did. Alyssa was also dope. She was a cool chick.

What I didn't like was the love interests. Jeb, he was very overprotective. Like, captain of team too much. And then some of his reasoning's for past decisions and stuff gave me AIDS. He's ridiculous and a dick and I kind of hated him. My boy Morpheus, was dope, but he also did questionable things for questionable reasons. I was mad at him towards the middle end. That sucked because I was rooting for him before I even met him because Jeb was being a dick.

Other than them, I had a total of zero problems with the book. It was wonderfully written and character development was good. The world building was also awesome, seeing as she basically recreated  Wonderland.

Wow. Did I just give a real book review? I'm sure you're shocked, seeing as my content has been a little short of actual content. Who knew I had it in me? Not me. Anyway, on to the next one.

Dope: Alyssa
